Meredith Smith
BSc, MScPT

As the Graduate Coordinator (Interim), Meredith Smith supports student progression through the program, ensuring accurate academic records, and management of awards and bursaries.
As the Education Coordinator, she supports a key leadership, administrative, and student support role while acting as the main facilitator between the UTSC and the St. George campus sites. She collaborates with Academic Unit Leads and Theme Leads to support seamless development, design, and delivery of the curriculum across the two sites.
She is an Academic Co-Lead for Clinical Education and an Academic Co-Lead for Unit 4: Physical Practice III which focuses on neurological physical therapy practice. She is a graduate of the MScPT program at the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelors in Physiology from Michigan State University and a Master of Education with a concentration in Health Professions Education from the University of Ottawa.
Prof. Smith is currently pursuing a PhD in the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education at the University of Toronto with an interest in exploring how to further support health professional students and health professionals in learning, valuing, and integrating principles of health equity into their practice to enhance patient care.
She also continues to occasionally practice clinically in private practice with a focus on clients living with neurological conditions. In addition, she is currently the President of the Black Physiotherapy Association (BPTA) which has the mission to enrich the health and wellness of Black physiotherapists, students, and the communities we serve through fellowship, education, mentoring, and advocacy.
