Presentation Title:

Quantitative measures of food oral processing across childhood

Short Bio:

Dr. Isuru Dharmarathna is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Swallowing Rehabilitation Research Lab, KITE, Toronto. She got trained as a speech and language pathologist at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and completed her PhD at The University of Auckland, New Zealand on developing objective videofluoroscopic measures of swallowing in children. Isuru served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya from 2015 to 2022, before taking up a post-doctoral research fellowship at KITE, Toronto. Isuru has contributed to literature on instrumental swallowing assessments by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and is a committee member of the International Pediatric Feeding Alliance Conference since 2021. She was a recipient of a Commonwealth scholarship to complete her MSc in Clinical Education, University of Edinburgh, UK and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.
