Kathy Obright has been an exemplary educator in the field of musculoskeletal physical therapy. She has been instrumental in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum regarding musculoskeletal assessment and treatment at Western University for over 25 years. She has been a valued and valuable member of the department. Anyone who has worked with, or been taught by, Kathy will attest to her clear subject mastery and outstanding contributions in this field. She consistently receives excellent teaching evaluations from students every year. As such, Kathy has also received many awards for excellence in teaching at the Departmental, Faculty, University, and provincial levels. Kathy’s teaching approach can be described as student-centred. She uses an interactive approach, challenging students to actively engage in their learning. She has the ability to make complex material understandable and the enthusiasm she brings to every topic inspires participants from all levels of experience. Students love her accessible and friendly style. Kathy ensures her courses are clinically relevant to ensure students will be prepared for clinical practice in musculoskeletal health. Kathy is an excellent role model for students, clinicians and her academic colleagues.
