Holiday cheer spread throughout 500 University Avenue last Thursday, as our annual “Festivus” event gathered over 100 students and faculty members to celebrate the holidays with an evening of dinner, musical performances and creative skits.

Everyone brought a favorite food to share, and the night began with comedic skits performed by members of the student council. The faculty then took to the stage, improvising their own version of “The Rick Mercer Report”. With the first-year students just finishing their practical exam, staff members showed a video sharing positivity and laughs regarding practicum preparation.

As the evening continued, three different groups of students performed in front of their peers, singing Christmas tunes and personal favorites. All acts incorporated instruments, showcasing the musical talents of our students. The night concluded with a hilarious video created by student council, showcasing some of the students dancing in their own rendition of “The Nutcracker”.

Festivus was a huge success, spreading laughter and cheer as we celebrate the final weeks of 2016.
