Rehab Rounds: Regina Jokel

Dr. Regina Jokel, PhD, will be presenting “Intervention for Progressive Aphasia” on Thursday December 4, 2014 from 12:10 to 1:00 pm.  This event takes place in room 140 of the Rehabilitation Sciences Building at 500 University Avenue.

Dr. Jokel received her Master’s in Health Science and a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology degrees from University of Toronto. She has been working for over 20 years with patients inflicted with various neurological disorders, including dementia. Dr. Jokel is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and a Scientist at Rotman Research Institute in Toronto, where she conducts research on novel language therapies. She has published extensively on language in dementia and was awarded the prestigious Age Plus prize by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for a significant contribution to research on aging. She has been invited to share her knowledge in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
