Rehab Rounds: Patricia Longmuir

Patricia Longmuir from the Labatt Family Heart Centre at SickKids presents Beyond Exercise Capacity and Obesity: Treating Childhood Illnesses and Disabilities with Physical Activity on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 12-1pm. This event takes place at the room 132 of the Rehabilitation Sciences Building, 500 University Avenue.

Dr. Pat Longmuir is a post-doctoral researcher to the Labatt Family Heart Centre at SickKids and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto (BPHE 1981, MSc 1985, PhD 2010), with training in physical education, community health and medical sciences. Her research focuses on enabling children with chronic medical conditions and disabilities to participate in physical activity and other issues that affect their quality of life. Dr. Longmuir has co-authored accessibility standards for recreation facilities in Ontario and the USA and is currently part of the American Heart Association writing group that is developing guidelines for the promotion of physical activity to children with congenital heart defects.
