Rehab Rounds: Dr. Karen Devon

Dr. Karen Devon, MD, FRCSC, FACS, will be presenting “To Tweet Or Not To Tweet: The question of Social Media in Health Care” on Thursday March 5, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.  This event takes place in room 140 of the Rehabilitation Sciences Building at 500 University Avenue.

Dr. Devon is surgeon/ethicist at the University of Toronto.  She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery and a doctor in the Department of Endocrine and General Surgery at Women’s College Hospital and the University Health Network.  Dr. Devon completed an endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Chicago as well as a fellowship in surgical ethics at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics.  She is a recent graduate of the Education Scholars Program at the Center for Faculty Development at the University of Toronto.  Recent scholarly work has focused on ethical issues arising from social media.  She holds a fellowship award from the AMS Pheonix Foundation, for work on bringing humanism to surgery.
