Rehab Rounds: Dr. Amit Sethi
Dr. Amit Sethi, PhD, OTR/L will be presenting “The Connections between Brain and Heart: Implications for Motor Recovery after Stroke” at Rehab Rounds on Thursday October 1, 2015 from 12:10 to 1:00 pm. This event will take place in room 132 of the Rehabilitation Sciences Building at 500 University Avenue.
Dr. Sethi is Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the Manipal College of Allied Health Sciences in India and an advanced Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. In addition, Dr. Sethi earned a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, concentrating his research on motor control, from the University of Florida.
Dr. Sethi’s research interests include understanding the neurophysiological and biomechanical mechanisms contributing to upper extremity weakness in adults post-stroke. He also specializes in studying the inherent complexity of human movement utilizing the tools of non-linear dynamics. Dr. Sethi has published in rehabilitation and biomechanics peer reviewed journals. His current research is funded through pilot grants from the University of Pittsburgh.
