Professor Dina Brooks receives Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

Queen Jubilee MedalProfessor Dina Brooks has been honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.  This commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The medal serves to honour “significant contributions and achievements by Canadians”.  It is given to Canadians who have made a significant contribution to a particular province, territory, region or community within Canada, or an achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.  Dina was nominated by the Lung Association for her work in improving the lives of individuals with lung disease.  The Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, administers the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal program. The award will be presented at the Canadian Respiratory Conference in Quebec City in April 2013.
