Education Resource for U of T Students

Dear Health Sciences Students in the Faculty of Medicine,

Click on the image above for a larger image.

Purpose of this message: Important education resources used to support upskilling current healthcare providers (HCP) when redeployed to care for COVID-19 and/or critically ill patients in hospital and long-term care settings is now available to University of Toronto students.

As clinical sites engaged in planning and discussions about redeployment to meet the anticipated increase in COVID-19 cases, they were strongly encouraged to create an account at covidcarelearning.ca (see below for how to access) and engage in the learning modules related to their professions. This website was created with the great support of the Ontario healthcare and education communities to provide key resources to prepare healthcare professionals who will be treating Ontarians impacted by COVID-19. The educational resources were developed by a highly skilled and collaborative team of educational experts, clinicians, and academics.

Here’s what you need to know before accessing covidcarelearning.ca:

  • These resources are intended for anyone in the hospital or long-term care sector, including those involved in the care of COVID-19 and other critically ill patients or residents.
  • These resources will continue to be augmented and updated, including the addition of other professions on the team – you will receive notification of updates after you create your account.
  • While the learning platform is currently organized by profession, you are encouraged to visit the full set of resources across professions, especially where there are cross-disciplinary and overlapping scopes of practice.
  • There are four other important sections that address Team-Based Models of Care, Team Wellness and Resilience, Palliative Care and Bioethics. We will need to take care of each other more than ever as we care for our sickest patients together

Please refer to the attached Technical FAQs document that guides you through general troubleshooting.
