We are seeking recent MScPT graduates (within the past 10 years) to act as mentors for physical therapy students in our graduating class (Class of 2020). As mentors, you would share your experiences, advice and information about transition from student to professional life, as well as career opportunities and choices.
We are recruiting mentors for two opportunities:
- Speed Mentoring Event: March 10th, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm
The aim of this event is to expose our graduating students to various career paths and opportunities available after graduation. In addition, mentors would provide advice on the transition from the role or experience of student to physical therapist. We are interested in recruiting a wide variety of MScPT graduates (clinicians, researchers, managers, business owners, admin professionals, policy makers and those pursuing additional degrees) to speak to students about their chosen career path.
The event is taking place at 500 University Ave. Complimentary dinner and snacks will be provided. You will be meeting with several groups comprised of 8-10 students over a period of 50-minutes. You will have the opportunity to discuss your experience. We will provide you with some suggested questions that students may be asking.
- Mentor-Match: March 2020 – January 2021
We are looking to recruit clinicians to act as mentors for 1-2 graduating students in the transition from student to clinician. Mentors will act as a point of contact for the graduating student for questions and advice during the student’s transition from school to the workforce. Mentors and mentees will agree on the frequency of contact and mode (e.g. email, in person, phone, social media).
Thank you for your willingness to be a mentor for our graduating class. We have a few questions that would help us with matching.
