“Optimizing health care delivery and outcomes for people living with complex chronic health conditions”

Presenter: Dr. Crystal MacKay

Dr. Crystal MacKay is a Scientist at West Park Healthcare Centre and holds a status appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto. She completed a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy at Queen’s University, a Master of Health Science (community health and epidemiology) at the University of Toronto, and a PhD in the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto. Following her doctoral training, Dr. MacKay completed a CIHR-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. As a health services researcher and physical therapist, her research vision is to improve health services delivery and health outcomes for people living with complex chronic conditions. Dr. MacKay has expertise in health services research, knowledge translation and uses multiple methods (qualitative and quantitative) in her research. She also is a trainer for GLA:DTM Canada, an exercise and education program for people with hip and knee osteoarthritis.
