Speech and Voice Impairment in Sports Related Concussion
Short Bio:
Dr Banks is a speech pathologist and post-doctoral fellow working in Dr. Beal’s CONNECT Lab at the Bloorview Research Institute. During his masters and doctoral studies at Michigan State University, Dr. Banks examined potential means of assessing and rehabilitating the voices of occupational voice users. For his doctoral thesis, the motor speech and acoustic voice characteristics of young adults with acute and persistent concussion symptoms. Dr. Banks anticipates that this work will be helpful to inform evidence-based assessment and return-to-play protocols.
