Exercise Prescription for Cervical Spine Dysfunction for Physical Therapists

This course is presented by the Continuing Professional Development Committee at the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
This course will focus on the use of exercise in the treatment of the patient with cervical spine dysfunction. A variety of physiological impairments will be identified and the assessment techniques required to evaluate these will be taught through practical sessions. Exercises to address impairments in hypo‐mobility, somato sensory function, muscle performance, dynamic stability and posture will be discussed, demonstrated and practices through the use of case studies.
Carol Kennedy is a well‐known expert in the orthopaedic Division manual therapy course system. She has completed the CPA Specialization Program in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and holds a Clinical Masters of Science in manipulative therapy. Carol is a partner at Treloar Physiotherapy clinic in Vancouver where she almost exclusively treats patients with cervical spine disorders.
