How to Apply
Entry to the OIEPB Comprehensive Bridging Program is based on 1) a submitted application and 2) performance at a one-day Admission Assessment in February. Start your application as soon as possible to ensure that all required documentation is received before the NEW Application Deadline of February 20, 2017, 12pm EST. What do I need to do in order to submit my application?
If you meet the eligibility requirements please submit your online application form, upload the required documents and pay the $100.00 non-refundable application fee by credit card to the OIEPB Program by February 20, 2017, 12pm EST.
Your application will be reviewed; applicants who meet the requirements may be invited to participate in a one-day Admission Assessment ($175.00 non-refundable fee) in February. You must appear in person for the Admission Assessment if you wish to be considered for the program. The Admission Assessment is a mandatory part of the application process. Please also see the three Stages of the Admission Process below.
- Application Form completed and dated
- Document verifying language requirement met
- Document verifying prerequisite course requirement met – a course related to the Knowledge of the Practice of Physiotherapy within the Canadian Healthcare System, such as Physiotherapy Practice within the Canadian Health Care Context
- Current resume
- Copy of Identity and Canadian Status Documents (i.e. Citizenship, Landed Immigrant card, Open Employment Authorization, Permanent Resident card). Photocopies require FRONT and BACK of each document
- Copy of proof of residency in Ontario (i.e. Passport, Ontario drivers license or utility bill)

Please note: There are limited spaces available for entrance into the program. It is not guaranteed that all applicants who meet admission requirements will be offered admission.

A three-stage screening process will determine your admission to the program.
Stage 1: Review of Application and Documents
Your application form and required supporting documentation will be reviewed. Using the consent you provide on the Application Form OIEPB staff will contact the CAPR to verify that you meet the threshold for application and to verify any other information based on your individual circumstances. Eligible applicants who apply prior to the Application Deadline will be invited to participate in the Admission Assessment.
If your file is incomplete you will not be considered for the next stage of the admission process (Admission Assessment).
Please Note: There are no exemptions from the language proficiency requirements.
All communication from the OIEPB program with applicants will be by email. Please ensure you check your email account daily.
Stage 2: Admission Assessment
The Admission Assessment is a one-day competency-based evaluation designed to assess your current physical therapy knowledge, clinical reasoning, physical therapy practice skills and practice readiness.

Up to 60 qualified applicants will be invited to attend the Admission Assessment Day.
The Admission Assessment dates for the 2017/18 cohort will be on Sat Feb 25, 2017 or Sun Feb 26, 2017.
You must be in Toronto to attend one of the Admission Assessment Days. There is no off-site assessment option.
Program faculty will use the Admission Assessment results to determine if your learning needs can be addressed through the Comprehensive Bridging Program. All applicants will receive an evaluation of their performance on the Admission Assessment.
Stage 3: Offers of Admission Emailed
Offers of admission to the OIEPB Comprehensive Bridging Program will be emailed to selected candidates 3-4 weeks after the Admission Assessment Days. All outstanding requirements must be met prior to the start of the OIEPB Comprehensive Bridging Program online start date.
Please note: Admission to the OIEPB program is competitive.
Throughout the year the OIEPB Program hosts Information Evenings. These information sessions will give IEPTs an opportunity to learn more about the program, meet the program staff and faculty, and have the opportunity to meet former OIEPB learners. There is no fee to attend the information session, it is FREE for everyone.
