Ontario Internationally Educated Physical Therapy Bridging (OIEPB) Program Overview
The goal of the OIEPB Program is to teach the knowledge and skills that will help Internationally educated physical therapists gain registration to practice physical therapy in Ontario.
Comprehensive Bridging Program
Our 10 month Comprehensive Program is designed to provide educational opportunities for physical therapists educated outside of Canada to develop the additional knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning required to meet Canadian entry-to-practice standards and succeed in the Canadian workplace.
Internationally trained physical therapists who have taken the OIEPB program score HIGHER on the Physiotherapy Competency Exams conducted by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulator than those who do not enroll in the program. OIEPB Pass rates are 80% (Written Component) and 82% (Clinical Component) compared to non-OIEPB 48% (Written Component) and 57% (Clinical Component).
Physiotherapy Practice within the Canadian Health Care Context Online Course
Physiotherapy Practice within the Canadian Health Care Context is a six week online course that meets the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulator’s requirement for “Knowledge of the Practice of Physiotherapy within the Canadian Healthcare System” .
Exam Skills Preparation Workshops (ESP)
Our single-day Exam Skills Preparation Workshops are geared to assist participants in preparing for and completing a competency-based examination. The focus of the workshop is on specific exam skills, effective study techniques, and exam-taking preparation. The workshops will not cover bridging content for physical therapy practice in Canada.
Refresher Courses offer Canadian- or internationally-trained physical therapists the opportunity to refresh their physical therapy knowledge in different practice settings via a mix of online learning opportunities and on-site participation.
