Physical Therapy

Important Dates

The following dates apply to the 2012 physical therapy admission process.

January 6, 2012: Deadline for ORPAS application.

January 27, 2012: Deadline for receipt of transcripts at ORPAS.

March 29, 2012: Emails will be sent by 10AM to students receiving an offer to write the CAP, and letters will be mailed to unsuccessful applicants. Emails are sent to the email address that was provided to ORPAS in your online application. Please check your settings on your email to ensure that the interview invitation is not re-routed to your “junk” mailbox.

April 25, 2012: Alternate CAP day for students with religious observances and special requirements (test takes place at U of T).

April 28, 2012: CAP day at U of T.

May 18, 2012: Admission results will be emailed to all applicants by 10AM. Letters will also be mailed to all applicants on this date.

June 1, 2012: Response to first-round offers due (including $250 non-refundable deposit).

June 4, 2012: This is the earliest date by which waitlisted applicants will be contacted with offers to U of T’s MSc PT program. The waitlist remains in effect until the beginning of classes in September 2012. If you have firmly accepted another PT offer from Western, Queen’s or McMaster, we are not permitted to contact you with an offer. There are no guarantees that we will go to our waitlist to make any offers.

June 8, 2012: Provisional acceptances become firm acceptances.

June 30, 2012: Deadline for receipt of final transcripts (with degrees conferred) at ORPAS. This includes transcripts for any courses that were in progress when the ORPAS application was submitted. Typically the “degree conferred” notation is only added after the official convocation ceremony, so take this into consideration when ordering transcripts.

Late July 2012: Applicants who have accepted admission to the PT program at U of T will be mailed a registration package, which includes details on registration, schedules, textbooks, etc.

August 1, 2012: Upon entry to the physical therapy program, students are required to provide a copy of a valid certificate in both Standard First Aid and CPR including adult, infant and child training (e.g. Level C). First year students must take the course no earlier than August 1 and no later than the first day of classes in September. A copy of the certificate as evidence of the certification/re-certification must be submitted to the department in September when classes begin.
